The Workshop Operating Partner is a crucial role that will enable us to scale by leading our workshops and our work with entrepreneurs. The primary responsibility involves presenting and facilitating our ‘Level 1’ scaling workshops.
Specifically, this entails:
- Presenting our scaling framework to workshop participants
- Serving as the Master of Ceremonies for our workshops and as the ‘face’ of our scaling workshops to attendees
- Effectively ‘pitching’ entrepreneurs on the opportunity to work with us with more depth
- Coordinating our workshop team and events team to ensure smooth workshop operations
- Consulting individually with attendee businesses during round-table sessions for the multiple levels of workshops we host.
This role demands a mastery level of business acumen, presentation skills, on-the-spot problem-solving, and leadership. To be successful, you must have a passion for teaching others; consulting with businesses; and running a fast-scaling business line (our training division).

Responsibilities:
External
- Present during our scaling workshops to deliver key training for business owners, and collaborate with the team in the creation of those presentations.
- Serve as ‘Master of Ceremonies’ for scaling workshops and potential other workshops as needed
- Lead our efforts to pitch & ascend attendees to continue working with us in more depth (i.e., during our ‘Level 2’ VAM workshops or Level 3)
- Facilitate roundtable discussions to empower businesses with effective strategies and best practices as well as solve their problems on the spot.
- Act as a trusted advisor, subject matter expert, and point of escalation for workshop participants.
- Guide businesses on how to build and scale their businesses during Q&A sessions, both formally and/or informally
- Lead the creation of a comprehensive business playbook for businesses attending the workshop and the ongoing improvement of curriculum.
Internal
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Operating Partner to ensure updates to training materials and content
- Help build the systems and teams to ensure we have proper workshop operations and curriculum in place
- Assist in monitoring workshop performance and iterating on workshop experience
- Collaborate with a workshop team that will work on the businesses alongside you
- Oversee the creation and continued updating of playbooks/content that can be applied across workshop businesses
- Assist in training upcoming members of the portfolio team so they can be “presentation ready” as well as facilitating Round Table training as needed.
Results:
- Create and deliver world-class presentations consistently during workshops
- Deliver an exceptional experience to workshop attendees, in support of our standard of excellence in conducting workshops
- Inspire workshop attendees to attend more Acquisition.com workshops and also refer friends or others to attend
- Motivate and empower peers and teammates to deliver world class presentations and consulting to our attendees.
- Uphold company values and culture in all interactions with workshop participants.
Requirements:
- Broad business experience and expertise
- Either top-tier MBA + top-tier management consulting experience OR 2+ years leading (CEO/COO/Founder), scaling, and ideally exiting a company with $15M+ in annual revenue preferred
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, startup-like environment preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially for a business owner audience
- Comfort speaking in front of large audiences with poise, grace, and authority
- Strong influencing ability–capable of quickly understanding and overcoming objections or blockers from workshop attendees
- High emotional intelligence with a willingness to develop deep interpersonal relationships
- Strong business acumen with the confidence and knowledge to teach others
- Demonstrated experience as a creative problem solver with the ability to structure complex issues quick and with deep proficiency
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to a fast-changing environment–willing to both take direction and play a leadership role as needed
- Demonstrated integrity and dedication to effective, efficient delivery of objectives.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously.

Salary:
- $200k-$225k + bonus based on workshop performance
