ROLE:
This role will be directly working for a Portfolio Company. The Controller serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing the company's financial management strategy, contributing to the organization's strategic goals, and completing the day-day functions within the finance department. This role requires extensive experience in strategic financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, and managing financial relationships. A successful Controller will analyze the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses and propose corrective actions, manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, prepare all financial reporting, and advise on long-term business and financial planning.
SALARY:
- $110,000 to $130,000 base + a 15% bonus

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes month/year end close include preparing journal entries, accruals, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring proper tax reporting.
- Direct and oversee all financial functions of the organization including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, treasury, and real estate.
- Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division.
- Develop and maintain capital budget, perform risk management through analysis of liabilities and investments.
- Oversee international payment collection processes, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and international payment regulations.
- Develop and implement tax-saving strategies to optimize the organization's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
- Review all formal finance, HR, and IT-related procedures.
- Coordinate, analyze, and report the financial performance to Management (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required).
- Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors).
- Provide strategic management of the accounting and finance functions.
- Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of a company’s financial information.
- Manage or oversee the relationship with partnering financial institutions.
- Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Work alongside senior executives on strategic deep dives to create financial models and forecasts of business scenarios.
- Remain current on audit best practices as well as state, federal, and local laws regarding company operations.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 10 years of financial experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior management role ideally.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field is preferred.
- CPA or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent skills in QuickBooks Online.
- Proven strategic planning experience at the management level.
- Deep understanding of financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics.
- High proficiency in financial software and databases.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- High level of business acumen.
